Who says girls can't pet sit for dogs? If anyone wants to pet sit for dogs they should be a dog lover first and should be dedecated to their work. It's simple right?
Dogs often choose to sit behind their owners because it makes them feel safe and protected. This behavior is a natural instinct for dogs, as they see their owners as their leaders and want to be close to them for security.
People must instruct a dog more than once, because dogs do not understand human language. If you give a command to your dog repeatedly as he completes a certain task (like "sit" when your dog sits) he will, by tone of voice, understand that when you use that tone, you want him to sit.
Train the dog to what you want the dog to do. Like "Sit, role over" etc.
This is a sign on anti-social behaviour. Sitting down or moving away when other dogs attempt to smell the rear end is a sign that your dog does not want, or does not know, how to react or be social with other dogs. Perhaps your dog didn't get enough socialisation with other dogs when it was a puppy? Try to let your dog spend as much time as possible around strange dogs. If it continues to sit down, keep it moving to prevent this. Hope this helps!
You have to train it. Pick the dog you want to be dominant. Tie or pen the non-dominant chosen dog and feed both dogs with one penned and one free. Takes a few times, but the free dog establishes dominance.
the best method thats seems to work with mine is: hold the object you want you dog to learn, for example: if you want your dog to know what TOY means, hold a toy, get the dogs attention, say "toy" then hold the toy out to your dog. your dog should sniff the object your offering to him/her. while he/she is sniffing the toy tell the dog what it is, say "toy". then stand straight and hold the toy away from the dog, say "toy" again and then throw it, saying "go get the toy" do this every single day for about a week and then tell your dog "Go get the toy. Toy. Toy. go get the toy." your dog should go get the toy. if you want him to learn a word like a command, sit, lay down, speak, then you have to show the dog what sit means and then reward him/her. for example say "sit" then force the dog into a sitting position, then praise your dog, even tho u did it for him/her.
I currently have my two dogs(lab mix and a shar-pei mix) in training. The company that we go through is called, "Sit Means Sit". They teach you and your dog at your home instead of you going to them. The lessons depend on you and what you want your dog to know.
Dogs might sit on top of their doghouse to get a better vantage point, observe their surroundings, or find a comfortable spot to relax. It can also be a natural behavior for them to seek higher ground for security and safety.
if you want to buy a dog you need to start doing jobs for your parents or neighbors i do that. or if your wanting to prove to your parents that you are responsible i wold walk dogs or dog sit for someone THAT YOU KNOW. that is the most important thing!
Dogs can sit "on" chairs (on haunches) or much less frequently "in" chairs, where their legs extend over the front as human legs do.
I think that is too young in case their is an emergency with the dog.
