Yes
Not the whole answer but just called a discount tire place. They charge $12.50 per tire for balancing.
Tire balancing is when you have the front tires and the rear tires on your car switched. This is done so the balance of air in each tire stays the same. You can do this at almost all tire and car shops. You can call to compare different prices to ensure you get the best.
There is no schedule for tire balancing; it is completely dependent on usage and need. For the averages, a tire can survive for its entire life without the need for balancing again; this average says you have never overloaded the tire, let it set too long without driving, caused the tire to spin (loose traction), skidded, etc. The smart way to deal with this is to purchase lifetime balancing, and return to the original place of purchase to have them rotate the tires, and check the balance at the same time (7,000 miles or so).
any tire if hanged free from it's middle point in it's geometric centre freely it will show that there is a side of it a little bit heavier sometimes not always even with a brand new tire ,to solve this uneven balance we have to put a counter balance in the opposite point to the heavier one ,this is a static balance. When you rotate the tire with a fixed speed the unbalance will cause the tire to be shaking so we have to put a counter weight opposite to the extra weight which causes the unbalance ( this is called dynamic balance and should be done using a balancing machine. # When the tires are new. # When you feel any vibration in the steering wheel that can be attributed to a wheel balance problem.
Wheel balancing machines can run from $700 - $1,000 and up. There is no wheel balancing kit, but most tire shops will use their machine to balance your wheels at a fairly low cost.
It sounds like you have a tire slightly out of balance. Driving heats up the wheel, changing the balance slightly. It is also possible that you have water in the tire, the result of condensation or airing the tire repeatedly. The evening out or smoothing of the drive is the result of the tire heating up and selfbalancing or the water in the tire spreading out evenly also balancing the tire. The solution is simple: take the tire in to be balanced. If there is water in it, they will find it and fix it. If the tire is just out of balance, that will be fixed as well. Any tire shop can do this.
Yes, balancing is matching the tire to the rim. No two tires or rims are exactly the same and so balancing is always required when mounting a different tire to a rim.
The goal of tire balancing is the make sure that the weight of the tire is even around the axle. This can be done by auto mechanics, and should be done every 4,000-6,000 miles.
twelve dollars
It's probably shaking a lot because it needs its balancing done. Most tire stores like "Tire Works" will do your balancing for around $30.
Could be a tire or wheel that is out of balance Could be a bad tire with internal damage Could need a new car
