If you are getting codes for bank 1 and bank 2 lean, then yes it is a possibility.
Blown fuel pump fuse, defective fuel pump relay, bad fuel pump, or clogged fuel filter.
Noisy fuel pump, stalling, or engine will not start and you have no fuel pressure.
If the fuel pump becomes noisy you can rest assured it is going bad. But, the pump maybe going bad and not make any noise at all. Anytime you have a problem with fuel delivery, first thing to do is replace the fuel filter. After replacing the fuel filter a fuel pressure test will verify the condition of the pump.
by going to the fuel satation
A bad fuel pump will cause the fuel not to flow into the fuel pump. Another cause can be a leak in the fuel line.
Too lean bank one check fuel pressure-your pump is probably going out.
well if you have fuel and a new filter a good fuel pump relay and the wires going to the fuel pump have power and no fuel pressure you need a fuel pump
The whining noise is a common sound and problem with all Chevy trucks and suvs. Yes it is the fuel pump and it does not mean the pump is going out. Chevy recommends to keep the fuel tank 1/2 full at all times to keep the electric fuel pump cool. I've installed many NEW fuel pumps and they also whine/ make noise. It is just a common problem. If you are concerned about the fuel pump then you need to check the fuel pressure with a fuel gauge.
A fuel pressure test done at the fuel rail will verify the condition of the fuel pump. Before going to that much trouble check the fuse, and fuel pump relay. If either one is defective the fuel pump will not function.
how do i know the fuel pump is going bad in a 1998 ford expedition eddie bauer?
no...if the pump is indeed going bad then it will not be able to properly pump enough fuel to your cars engine..better have a professional look at it soon.
An electrical fuel pump.
