she learned to love him which made him in normal mode
The Beast kept Maurice (Belle's Dad) captive until Belle said: "Wait... Take me instead." Then, for about a night Belle was his prisoner, and then they fell in love. The reason the Beast held Maurice captive in the first place, was because he would tell everyone about this monstrous, terrifying beast and they would all kill him. Now, if you were talking about the Beauty and the Beast BOOK (written in the 1700's for Adults) instead of the Disney movie, the reason he held him captive is the same.
Gaston is the villain of the film. He is a rude and self-centered hunter who is beloved by the townspeople. Belle is indifferent toward Gaston until he decides that they should be married, as Belle is the only woman beautiful enough for him. After Belle's father, Maurice, reveals that Belle is being held captive by the Beast, Gaston rallies the townspeople to storm the castle. He and the Beast battle, and Gaston is thrown to his death (confirmed on a 2002 DVD commentary track). He is voiced by Richard White in both the film and an appearance on Disney's House of Mouse.
Beast didn't hide the father. He simply put him in the dungeon and held him prisioner.

Animals which were hunted at beast hunts were lions, bears, wild goats, deer, wild rabbits, dogs and elephants. When the Colosseum was built most of the beast hunts were transferred there. Some continued to be held at the Circus Maximus. Some beast hunts were held in the forum and the Saepta Julia, a building commissioned by Julius Caesar for the meetings of the assembly of the tribes.
That is 'clutched', meaning held tightly.
Breakable things break if not held. This is so if the item is already being held then let go of. Glasses, picture frames, lamps, TV's, and mirrors, are several things that can break if not held.

Yes, it was called Minotaur and was held imprisoned in the labyrinth.
That is the correct spelling of "floated" (was held on the surface of a liquid, or in the air, by buoyancy).
No, as it is a belief held by some that the mark of the beast will be a physical or symbolic mark given by the Antichrist during the end times. However, there is no evidence to support this belief, and it is ultimately a matter of personal faith.
