Nope, your heart pumps in a rythym due to automatic electrical impulses sent from your hypothalamus (reptillian brain) to a node (Sinoatrial) in the atrial wall (heart muscle),

this node in turn sends the impulse to the atrioventricular node which makes the muscle cells in the rest of the hear contract, the noise of your heartbeat is these two seperate contractions which happen close together
