ALL "patch delivery systems" on ANY medication patch are made to hold a particular dosage of medication. The gel medication is put into a patch because IF all the medication were to be 'delivered' (taken, ingested, eaten), it has the potential to KILL if taken all at once.

Patches create a delivery system over ONE TO THREE DAYS, depending on the medication. It is NOT, I repeat NOT, intended to be cut or swallowed (ingested).

SEVERE EFFECTS IF PATCHES ARE CUT

  1. First, the gel/liquid that would come into contact with the fingers or hands would be rapidly absorbed. This could cause respiratory depression, meaning, you could simply stop breathing.
  2. Second, if you get the gel from your hands/fingers onto your face, eyes, lips, mouth, mucous membranes inside your mouth, it will be rapidly absorbed, which could lead to death.
  3. If you suck on, "chew", eat, swallow the gel from a narcotic patch, you could stop breathing.
  4. Even if you survived, the gel is NOT, I repeat NOT, intended to come into contact with the stomach and intestines. You could put yourself into gastric distress, kidney failure, not to mention respiratory failure and heart failure.... or death. IF you lived, you could burn a hole through your stomach, requiring immediate surgery. You could kill off part of your intestines (bowel). IF you lived through kidney failure, you'd still need dialysis. If you damaged your kidneys bad enough, you could end up needing dialysis for the rest of your life.

NO, chewing a narcotic patch will NOT get you "high". Chewing a patch will either get you dead, or very seriously ill for weeks, months, or years... or a lifetime. Why do it?
