Yes, but there are a lot of variables as to the degree of pain. I have two kids. The first I had an epidural and there was really very little pain, but I was sick to my stomach for several hours after and had a headache for several days and was pretty lethargic. The second child was all natural. There was substantially more pain, but it was instantly over as soon as she was born and I felt a lot better after the fact than I did with the epidural. There was no throwing up or headaches and I had a lot more energy. I imagine almost every mother out there has had a different experience though.
