Birth defects are possible in pregnant patients taking Cipro. It has not been proven that Cipro is the cause of the defects, however.
Yes it does. I was taking Yaz and never missed a pill and took it according to all the directions. I was prescribed Cipro for a urinary tract infection and found out i was pregnant two weeks later. Thank you Insta Care for telling me Cipro lowered the effectiveness of my birth control after I found out I was pregnant.
Yes.
I am on Cipro for a kidney infection and had the same question. My research shows that it doesn't:Question: I am currently taking Cipro 500 for a bladder/urinary tract infection. I am also taking birth control pills. Will the Cipro change the effectiveness of my birth control medication? Is there any antibiotic substance involved? Answer: Not to any appreciable amount.Source: http://www.druginfonet.com/index.php?pageID=faq/faqcipro.htmSide-note: If you're taking Cipro or any other antibiotic plus birth control and you're a woman, the risk that you might develop a yeast infection is elevated, so avoid receiving oral sex (especially if your partner hasn't brushed his/her teeth and used mouthwash beforehand) as well as having your partner use a condom during sex to prevent further disruptions to your vagina's chemistry. Tips on how to prevent a yeast infection can be found at: http://www.brown.edu/Student_Services/Health_Services/Health_Education/general_health/wh_yeast.htm
yes it does, in about 10% patients.
There is a very high possibility of Cipro causing permanent heart damage. Cipro is the short form of a drug known as Ciprofloxacin which is an antibiotic.
My period is 10days late and I also took Cipro for 10 days. I tested pregnancy and it was negative, so only thing different was my urinal infection and taking cipro.
Many people report a connection between the two!
here's more info.... I've been on the Ortho Evra patch for 4 years. Had a kidney infection at the beginning of April. Was supposed to start on April 23rd and didnt so took an at home test and it came out positive. i was on Cipro, an antibiotic for my infection. Most everything i read said Cipro shouldn't effect birth control. So how could i be pregnant? replaced patch as needed and none fell off? Help!
I was taking Cipro and Flagel and now I have yellow tongue.
I've been on Cipro for nearly a week as a treatment for a uninary tract infection. I've had bad fluid retention in my feet and ankles. One source says that it can cause this in 1% of the people using it. Lucky me.
No, the antibiotic Cipro can not cause excessive vaginal bleeding. If you are experiencing bleeding and it is not your regualr menstrual cycle, you will need to see your doctor or go to an emergency room asap.
