Dont know what you mean by "clean out" but if you mean speed up, yes a defrag definitely helps to keep the boot smooth and fast.
The same way you defragment a normal PC hard drive. Hook it up, right click the drive in My Computer, go to tools, an among, disk clean up and error checking, there should be the option to defragment it. Once your there, just click defragment.
To cleanup old files on a Window's computer you can do so by going to start and searching either "Disk Cleanup" or "Disk Defragment". These will help clean up old compressed files and will clear the cache to help speed up performance without the need of downloading a sketchy program.
On the Vista home page at the bottom in the start block just type in Defrag. It will come up as an option and just click on it to start it..
Double-click My Computer, right-click the disk to defragment, and choose Properties > Tools > Defragment Now.
step one defragment disc step two clean disc step three ta da
Clear your cache,(cookies, temp files, prefetch, history, etc.) clean up your disk and update your system restore point as long as you are happy with everything you have to this point, defragment and that should speed it up.
everyone cleaning up
20 mb so about 2000kb to clean up PC go to programs accesories then disk clean up and it will empty unused files like temporary internet files and the same thing but choose disk defragment to compress files to make more room
First you disk clean, then you disk defragment. Both are under the System Tools. To get to System Tools, click on Start, click on All Programs, click Accessories, move over to System Tools, then click on Disk Clean. Do the same for Disk Defragment. This should be done after purchasing a new computer, and once every 3 months as maintenance. To really boost performance, you WILL have to purchase upgraded RAM that "fits" and does not exceed manufacturer specifications.
Clean it up. Defragment your hard drive, clear out the temporary files etc. Also may be worth cleaning the registry. I can recommend a great product Piriform CCleaner.
Fragmentation occurs as the computer is running. Files get moved around and it takes the computer longer to perform functions the more fragmented it becomes. You should defragment your hard drives once every 2 months or so. You can defragment by going to 'Start', 'My Computer", then double click on the icon for your hard drive. Then right click once on an empty spot on the window that opened up. Now click on 'Properties', then 'Tools', then click defragment.
that all it programed to do speeds up you OS
