I think dying feels differently depending on the circumstances. As a hospice social worker I've seen quite a few people die. These people have access to medications that help them relax and their deaths are quite peaceful.

In addition, my own heart has stopped twice, once for 7 seconds and once for 23 seconds. In each case I was aware of consciousness receding, but I felt no emotion about that. Neither did I feel any pain.

-Edit-

you want to know what it feels like to die? well I've been in a near death experience, (i jumped off a trampoline in a summer camp place and landed on my back which disabled my movement and stopped me from breathing). What i saw was i started to see my memories, my family and people i have forgotten from when i was a toddler really quickly like the end of a movie or a game but as i said, really quickly. But then after that, i started to fly into of this tunnel and started to see this bright light but not blinding for some reason, i started to feel really peaceful. (not talking about god, geez) then suddenly i start to get pulled away from it and i woke up coughing on the ground with one of my instructor pushing on my chest.

Dying doesn't usually feel painful.

If you get killed in an accident, for example: car crash, then it will usually not hurt because you die so quickly.

If you die because you have been sick, then the medicine usually takes away most of the pain.
