No. I'm currently using electrical tape to block radiation at 1300 nm and transmit THz radiation from 0.1-3 THz. The spectrum of the THz radiation is only mildly modified vs using silicon as a filter and electrical tape has similar transmission to silicon.
Visible Light - 430 THz to 790 THz
The frequency range for visible light is 400-790 THz
Visible light has a lower frequency than infrared radiation. Visible light ranges in frequency from approximately 430 THz (red light) to 750 THz (violet light), while infrared radiation has frequencies below 430 THz.
The frequency of infrared radiation ranges from about 300 GHz to 400 THz.
For a normal human being, visible light comprises electromagnetic radiation with wavelength in the range in the 390 nanometres (frequency = 770 THz) to 700 nm (430 THz).
Red is about 405 to 480 THz Orange from 480 to 515 THz Yellow from 515 to 525 THz Green from 525 to 575 THz Cyan from 575 to 610 THz Blue from 610 to 680 THz Violet from 680 to 785 Tz
There are 7 different types of visible light violet: 668-789 THz indigo: 668-714 THz blue: 606-668 THz green: 526-606 THz yellow: 508-526 THz orange: 484-508 THz red: 400-484 THz 1THz = 10^3 GHz = 10^6 MHz = 10^3 kHz = 10^12 Hz
The frequency ranges between 450 THz and 950 THz.
"THz" stands for "terahertz", a unit of frequency. 1 THz = 1 trillion hertz = 1,000 GHz = 1,000,000 MHz = 1,000,000,000 KHz

Basically, they don't. THz waves are light at very low energies. Much too low in energy to break any chemical bonds -- they about a 1000 times lower energy than the ionization threshold for stripping electrons off atoms. Some very specific THz frequencies can resonate with vibrations of atoms within molecules, but to directly cause enough vibrations to actually heat and therefore damage a person's molecules would require a very high power, very focused, and very specific frequency emitter. Broad band THz emitters (such as the THz light from the heat of every object around us) will not harm people.
THz stands for Tera-Hertz which is equivalent to 10^12 Hertz (cycles per second).
