Yes it does hurt, but not so bad i could cry! Ive only had 1 session so far (small patch of dark hair on my jawline) and the beautician said it can take up to a year to complete, but i think its worth it. Its kinda like a very small, hot needle being placed on your skin.. It sounds horrible, but compared to waxing and plucking its really not that bad. And i have a very low pain tolerance! The thinking about the pain is the worst bit. Just stop wondering and get it overwith!

Electrolysis may cause some discomfort, as it involves sending an electric current through the skin to destroy hair follicles. The level of discomfort can vary depending on individual pain tolerance and the sensitivity of the area being treated. Topical numbing creams can help to minimize any pain or discomfort during the procedure.

It's an example of electrolysis. Not unwanted hair removal, but that does use the same process. Electrolysis is the process of breaking down compounds by running an electric current through them.

What is a process that uses electric current to break chemical bonds?

Electrolysis is a process that uses electric current to break chemical bonds, typically in compounds dissolved in water. It involves the passage of current through an electrolyte to drive a non-spontaneous chemical reaction, causing the compound to decompose into its constituent elements.
