it makes the body sick because the HIV goes into your immune systems and allows the immune system to work properly. There for it makes your immune system weaker and it can not help keep you from getting sick or preventing other infections

When you first get infected with HIV, there are sometimes symptoms about two weeks later like you are having the flu. These go away in a day or two. So HIV doesn't really make you sick.

But it can make you very ill later, if you let it develop in your body. Daily medication can stop the virus replicating, but without it the virus will often develop into AIDS, which can result in a number of harmful conditions, possibly leading to death.

HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) doesn't necessarily cause a person to feel ill, the virus attacks the part of the body that fights disease. Humans cannot feel their immune system under attack, so the virus is able to go undetected for years without showing signs or symptoms of infection.

HIV uses the cells associated with immune function (white blood cells) to reproduce. It effectively turns the cells into HIV factories that replicate copies of the virus. Over time, there will be less healthy immune cells to fight infection. When a person's immune system becomes weakened to a certain point, they will receive an AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome) diagnosis.

Persons with AIDS have immune systems that are less able to fight infection. At this point, they may suffer from unique illnesses that only infect those with advanced HIV infection. These diseases are referred to as "Opportunistic Infections." People with healthy immune systems don't have to worry about getting opportunistic infections because their immune systems are easily able to fight them.

When a person's immune system is comprimised, they are more likely to suffer from these diseases with increased frequency over time. Eventually, an opportunistic infection may cause death to an HIV+ person. Ultimately, its not the virus that resulted in death, but a disease that their immune system couldn't handle.

The stages of HIV infection are acute infection (also known as primary infection), latency and AIDS. Some people may experience a flu-like illness within 2-4 weeks after HIV infection. But some people may not feel sick during this stage.

Acute infection lasts for several weeks and may include symptoms such as fever, swollen lymph nodes, inflammation of the throat, rash, muscle pain, malaise, and mouth and esophageal sores.
The latency stage involves few or no symptoms and can last anywhere from two weeks to twenty years or more, depending on the individual.
AIDS, the final stage of HIV infection, is defined by low CD4+ T cell counts (fewer than 200 per microliter), various opportunistic infections, cancers and other conditions.

Well eventually they do but sometimes they could have the virus for 10 years and never get sick and they can still pass it on.

No, not everyone with HIV gets hepatitis. Viral hepatitis and HIV have similar risk factors, but they don't always go together.

Why HIV aids is a slow onset disaster?

Because it takes years for HIV (when you're contagious, but not particularly sick) to develop into AIDS, where you are sick and eventually die.

Will you get sick if you drink out of the same cup as a sick person?

Yes, it's likely that you might get the same disease passed onto you if the disease is contagious, as the sick person's saliva contains the virus/bacteria that can also get you sick when you ingest it. But some disease cannot be spread that way, as for example if the sick person is sick with HIV, you will not get sick if you drink from the same cup, but you will get sick if the person cut himself with a razor blade, for example, and somehow his blood mixed with you. You'll get sick too as HIV is only spreadable through blood to blood transmission.

Why the organisms are more harmful to people with HIV than to people without HIV?

Ppl without HIV have a strong immune system so it's more dangerous to ppl with HIV since they don't have that. If they get sick it can easily lead to more serious conditions.
