It really depends on what you do. If you stare at the TV or play Video Games during your spare time it may be fun, but really it doesn't help anything. Reading is a nice calming activity which would probably help the mind, and of course there's always sleeping. Sleeping gives you more energy and also time for your body to heal if you're hurt or sick. Sleeping and other relaxing activities definitely help your mind, and the rest of your body as well.

Kids do need free time because they have hard long days also. Also when kids have free time it lets them use their creative mind and just hang out with friends so they can bond and become closer.
