You can get sick with frostbite, exposure, and even in extreme situations, hypothermic from being cold and exposed in the elements. Hypothermic means you have a reduced CORE body temperature which takes extreme exposure to cold and it is not a common problem. To catch an actual common cold or flu, you must be exposed to the viruses that cause these diseases. Being chilly, or not wearing a coat for a short period of exposure, will not cause infectious disease.
