You really can't take after a great white shark unless you are with a team of people who work in an aquarium and know what they are doing. Even they can't, well at least for a long time. Great white sharks are one of the many sharks that are hard to keep in captivity. As much as it stinks to not be able to see them in an aquarium to often or for too long, that's just the way it is.

Anything that eats has to have some way to get rid of the parts of the food that they can't digest. That's what gets turned into poo. If they couldn't get rid of that, they'd have to keep swelling and swelling. Wouldn't work.

Any body who's ever watched Flipper knows that most sharks are leary of dolphins and porpoises. They can out swim sharks and ram them with their 'beaks'. This may not apply to the Great White Shark who is pretty impressive swimmer in its own right.

Endangered. The great white shark is a "mackerel shark", allied to the porbeagle, and long finned and short finned mako sharks. The species is considered "Vulnerable", by the IUCN. Recently, numbers have shown an upswing, as more sharks than expected have been counted in South African, and waters off the coast of North America.

I don't think that the shark is mentioned in the Bible, but i could be wrong. The ancient Greek work ketos and the Hebrew work tannin were used by early historians to denote any large marine animal, such as whales and sharks. In the Bible these words have been translated as 'great fish' or 'dragon'. Jonah was believed to have been swallowed by a whale, however it is unlikely that back then people knew the biological differences between whales and sharks. In the early 1700s Linnaeus said that he believed the fish responsible was the great white shark. Therefore there could be more references to the shark in the Bible but these may have been lost in the translation. I found this information in a book called 'The Sharks' by R Burgess from the 1970s.

They tend to be solitary Hunters but it has been known for more than one to attack the same prey. A famous account was a young surfer that was attacked by 2 Great Whites at the same time, whether this was pure coincidence or they acted together is hard to know. The surfer survived. There was also another more recent attack in which a diver was killed on 22 of Feb 2011.
