Yes it can. Repeated exposer to the dander and bacteria in pet hair can cause lung and bronchial problems. It is being called "groomers lung". I have been a pet groomer for 6 years and am becoming worried about my persistent cough. I'm thinking this could also be my answer, Good luck to you!
