If you compare the inkjet printer in use today to those that were launched some twenty years ago, you will find that they have indeed come a long way since then. Though they arrived in the stores in the 1980s; it was way back in the 1970s, that printer companies recognized the fact that the ink based printers were the way forward and this technology would be revolutionary in nature. They began the process of developing printers and printer cartridges. The initial challenge for the company was not only to concentrate on quality but also on affordability. Siemens invented a popular inkjet printer model in 1977 and it became quite popular amongst businesses and organizations.

Theoretically, yes. You can download a Vista driver from HP. However, some of the functions will not work with Vista; specifically the SCAN button does not work. We have three of these printers at work and our computer people have done everything they can think of to enable the SCAN button, but with no success. See related links for information from HP about the HP 5610 printer.

I do not believe the HP 96 will work.
No.
As Windows 7 is a new Operating system, there is a good chance that drivers have yet to be developed for your printer to work properly. If they do exist then you should be able to get them from the support section of the HP website. If they have none for Windows 7, try the Windows Vista ones. If none of this works, try contacting HP support as thay may have a hotfix or some other solution already in place.
