HP LaserJet 1300 Laser Printer is being certified to work with Vista
The HP Laserjet 1300 Printer can be purchased at most electronics and office supply stores. Amazon, Staples, Best Buy, and Sears all have this printer in stock.

The HP designjet 130 will work best when using the recommended HP Original 85 Ink Cartridge. The dye based ink produces better colour consistency and transitioning.
Most smaller personal laserjet or inkets do not have network (10bT) interfaces. Use the HP Jetdirect cards or use the printer on a PC or Server, hook that to the router and use Windows "shares" to allow other Domain/Workgroup systems to access share and print remotely. Alternatively use a USB or Parallel to 10bT network interface coverter. Newer or Advanced printers have Bluetooth and/or network LAN interfaces. Some HP's even have WiFi! ...way cool
Once I went into the Control Panel and disabled the advanced printing features for our 1300n printer, this behavior ceased. (We are running MS Win Server 2003 and the HP LJ 1300n)
