However, the test for opiates is a special case. Most opiate drugs are metabolized in the body to the same compound, and that's what's usually tested for, meaning that one test will hit a large number of opiates. Because of this, and because opiates are an extremely commonly abused drugs, most tests that include multiple drugs instead of being specific to a particular drug will include opiates (any derivative of opium or codeine, such as hydrocodone, oxycodone, heroin, morphine, and so on).
