Well it depends what kind of hypnosis. If you tell someone they can have a pill that helps with that problem and you give them candy or a sugar pill then it will psychologically work.

It uses suggestive phrases, positive reinforcement and relaxation techniques. Multiple hypnosis session may be needed for long term results.
