∙ 7y agoMining coal eventually causes global warming because the coal ends up being burnt. Burnt coal releases carbon dioxide that has been hidden away for hundreds of millions of years. This extra greenhouse gas is building up in the atmosphere, trapping more heat, and causing global warming.
