No. Inflammation of the bursae is the result of the bursae being damaged by some sort of trauma in most cases. the cause of Rheumatoid arthritis We have an autoimmune reaction that, in other words the immune system mistakenly attacs tissues of the joints and other parts of the body. As a mater of fact RA can cause the problem of swelling of the bursa but not the other way around.
