Leaving it running burns more gas. Today's electronic fuel injection systems are much more efficient and do not flood the cylinder with gas until needed.
Older motors, with carburetors, may burn excess gas at startup. That's where the idea comes from that it's better to leave it running.
The battery has only so much energy available. Headlights use a lot of energy. If you leave them on for any amount of time with the engine not running, less energy will be left in the battery to turn the starter. This is normal and to be expected. The older the battery, the less energy it can store. So if the battery in your car is old, it will make the problem worse.
mark its' current position and leave it for a period of time. Then measure and divide for speed.
A transverse section is a section of a leave showing the interial parts of a leave
You're not pregnant. It might be worthwhile to seek other kinds of medical help so that you can leave this belief behind.
you leave fingerprints because of oils that are in the dermis or epidermis. this oil is called Sebum
Few fuel tanks have a drain plug. It is usually necessary to disconnect a fuel line, pump or syphon it out. You could always leave the engine running until it runs out of fuel.
No just dont put water in the exuast pipe
yes its a law
Exhaust fumes may enter and that is not good.
The eco mode that comes up on your radio display basically stops your battery going flat if you leave your radio on for a long period of time, whilst the engine is not running.
Yes, idling in park.
The better question is, why are gasoline engines shut off when refueling. The reason you shut off a gasoline engine while refueling is because the vapour that is released from gasoline is highly combustible (hence, how the engine works) and even a small spark (like that from a spark plug) can cause an explosion. Diesel fuel does not "ignite" like gasoline, but rather an explosion is caused by the fuel being compressed to a point that it explodes. This means that it is safe to run a diesel engine while the fuel tank is open. As with all engines, the majority of wear and tear on a diesel engine happens upon starting the engine, so avoiding that step can actually conserve fuel and preserve engine life. Diesel engines can be difficult to restart, especially in extremely cold weather, and the diesel fuel will not perform properly if the engine and/or fuel cool down. In extremely cold climates, truck drivers leave their trucks at a low idle all night to prevent freezing.
The danger lies in asphyxiation by the engine's exhaust fumes in a close non ventilated enclosure .
Ya but you need cautious or you can be killed by carbon dioxide (the silent killer)
No. Lower the load to the floor, set the parking brake, turn off the engine.
As long as you aren't running the engine, it shouldn't be an issue. However, you do want to make sure that no bugs or animals can get up into the engine.
No. Only when you check the level. It's just easier to leave it running so you can check it right away.
