If you want to get a sense of how it feels, take a really deep breath. As deep as you can and hold it for a few seconds. Then, without exhaling at all, try as hard as you can to inhale more (really hard, until your lungs are burning), hold it, and then do it again. But imagine that it feels that way through the entire breath, but sharp enough that I can't stop coughing.
Other attacks don't feel like that at all. I don't cough much, but I'm just out of breath, tired, uncomfortable, and I can hear the wheezing but am not feeling it a lot.
