Yes and no. But some people get period pains that's just like a tummy ache but it doesn't hurt that much.

It is normal to get them and they will be low in your tummy. You may also feel tired and stressy but it is just normal. You can also have headache's. Some times it doesn't hurt at all.

To help it you can lay down with a hot water bottle or have a nice bath.

Just remember every girl has them and they wont mind if you need some help.

Well, I'm no expert on periods, but if you have a period you bleed to death and die... A camel then comes out of nowhere and rapes your dead body... :) So, just be careful, yeah? :) Anyway, I'm actually being serious now... If you are reading this you are worried about having a period. If I am honest you shouldn't be. Its nothing... don't worry... :) Its over in about a week... just keep a mop handy... :L Joke... joke... :) (I'm a dude by the way... :D

It can hurt, but not necessarily.

Some women experience menstrual cramps when they menstruate - these are caused by certain hormones that cause the uterus to contract to push out menstrual flow, if you produce more of these hormones or are more sensitive to these hormones you can experience more painful menstrual cramps.
