Of course it matters who or what you have faith in. You may have faith in a stone, but what will that faith in a stone do? You may have faith in a statue, you may have faith in a God who lives far away in distant skies. What will all this do? What matters is when we have faith in the power, the power of the God that lives in the temple of our heart, when we have faith in God and realize that the kingdom of God is within, when we have faith in that power that makes our heart beat, that faith in the very Soul within makes a difference, because then God is inside of us controlling our life and making us move forward on our spiritual journey till we are liberated and become one with God.
If there is no god, it does not matter who or what you have faith in, if you choose to have faith at all.
If there is a god and that god is disinterested in whether you worship him or not, then it still does not matter who or what you have faith in.
It only matters if there is a god who demands absolute obedience and faithful worship, and who will punish humans for eternity for failing to worship him. In that case, you had better be worshipping the true god, whoever that god is.
We have no evidence that a god exists, benevolent or otherwise, so it probably does not matter whom you have faith in, or even whether you have no religious faith at all.
matter is made of faith

Anyone, no matter their colour can be a Christian. It is all a matter of faith, not your ethnic background.
This is a matter of belief/faith not real world fact. In the real, physical world there is no evidence that angels exist or indeed that evil exists. The real world answer is therefore NO. However, if this is a matter of faith then the answer will be whatever your faith tells you it is.
This is a matter of faith as if they are real or not.
Just as the belief that God exists is a matter of faith alone, so also the belief that Jesus is God is a matter of faith, based largely on the Gospel of John.
