Only it if is marked so.
In general, no. Unless the gun is marked for 3 inch (or even 3 1/2 inch) shells, you should not attempt to fire 3 inch Magnum shells, even if they seem to fit. However, if you have a gun made for 2 3/4 inch shells, and have 2 3/4 inch "magnum" shells, IF your gun is safe to shoot, it should be safe to shoot those "baby" magnums.
Yes you can you can shoot 3 or 2 and a half in
sure - clean it afterward
If the barrel says"2 3/4 inch shells", don't shoot 3 inch magnums. You might get away with it for several hundred shells, or you may crack the stock or forearm with the next shell you fire. If you want a magnum, go buy one, and save the Auto 5 for pheasants quail, and rabbits.
The Light will only accept and shoot 2 3/4" shells. The Magnum will shoot up to 3" 20ga shells.
Yes if the A 5 is a Magnum. Magnum versions are able to fire 3 inch cartridges. Browning makes shotguns in both 2 3/4 inch, and 3 inch chamberings, or did the last time I looked at a catalog. Clearly, using 3 inch shells in a gun chambered for the 2 3/4 inch shells is not a good idea. If you must use the 3 inch magnums, get an A5 chambered and built for them. Fabrique Nationale first started making the 12 gauge 3" Magnum A5s in 1958 and stopped in 1976. The 20ga mag was not introduced in the US until 1967. After Feburary 1976 A5 Magnums were made by Browning/Miroku in Japan. This production ended in 1998.
An Ithaca model 51 magnum 3 inch shotgun is worth $275-$325, depending on condition.
The 12 g Marlin 200 single shot shotgun SHOULD be marked on the barrel, something like "model 200 12 g 3" Modified" That means it will fire the 3 inch magnum shotshell, and has a modified choke. If you have a shotgun marked 2 3/4, do NOT fire a 3 inch magnum, even if it will chamber. The forcing cone will not have enough length for the shell to open, and it will cause unsafe high pressures. Every 200 I have seen (a limited number) WAS chambered for 3 inch Magnum shells.
yes it will. the rating shotguns are chambered for is the maximum size shell you can shoot. i have a 1100 LT chambered for 3 inch and i shoot 2 3/4 inch shells out of it mostly.
A .357 Magnum can shoot .38 Special rounds as well as .357 Magnum rounds.
The Remington 870P Police Magnum uses both the 2 3/4 inch and 3 inch shells.
Yes, you can shoot 2 1/2,2 3/4, and 3 inch shot gun shell in that barrel.
