Kinetic energy means moving. If you were to push a swing the input would be kinetic energy, because your moving the swing to get it going and then when it swings back it turns into gravitational pull, meaning gravity is pulling the swing back down to the ground. This example is complecated to understand as the energy used keeps switchig from kinetic, when you go up, and gravatational pull, when you go back down.
