we're doin this at school, so when sound gets in your ear, it goes through ur ear canal. Then it hits your ear drum. If a sond is too loud, like a CD player or jet engine, it will damage ur hearing. Our limit of hearing is between 20 and 20,000 Hertz. Hertz is the measurement for frequency. Frequency rule - the higher the pitch, the higher the frequency! There r also 3 bone, the hammer, anvil and tong. These fuse when you become an old fogie. Thse can get damaged too. Th cochlea(cock-lee-a) ca get damaged if you sick an earbud hn ur eardrum is ruined. Only an idiot would do that... Moral:..... DON'T LISTEN TO LOUD MUSIC!!! DON'T GO NEAR A JET PLANE AND CERTAINLY DON'T GO NEAR A BABY (THE CRIES WILL KILL YA...)
Yes it does, because it bursts your ear drums
^ is actually incorrect.
What actually happens is that the vibration go through your eardrum or tympanic membrane and causes the three little bones in your ear to vibrate. This then causes the oval window to vibrate, which after a series of different canals, causes the little hairs in the Organ of Corti to be pushed up against another membrane. Over time, loud music causes the hairs to be pushed up more from the increased amplitude in the wave of the vibration. As a result, the hairs overtime, become bent or the nerves become desensitized.

There could be 2 causes. Cats cannot tolerate loud or very high pitched sounds. If the music is in those categories, this could be the problem.
when you hear loud music it can bust your eardrum
It's not a good idea to do so. Dogs have more sensitive hearing than humans, and music can hurt their ears if it is loud. The same goes for cats. Not to mention it may be frightening to some of them.
No its not
No, the sound is producing inside, but loud music will wreck your ears.
