The Titans were defeated when Annabeth started to remind Kronos/Luke that he was supposed to protect her. Luke comes out of Kronos's body. Percy takes Annabeth's kinfe. Since Percy knocked Luke's sword out if his hand, kronos explodes into a million pieces.
Annabeth does not die but Luke does.
Luke doesn't die in The Titan's Curse. However, at first, it is assumed he has died by falling down a 50 ft cliff, but he survives due to the Achilles Blessing.
The main bad guy is the same throughout the series - Kronos, but in The Titan's Curse alone it boils down to Luke and Atlas.

Silena Beauregard makes her first appearance in this book but is not important until The Last Olympian and The Demigod Files.
the title is connected to the story because when Luke, Annabeth, Artemis, and Percy all hold up the sky which was Atlas's curse for going against the gods and Atlas is a titan.
