methadone is a very strong version of Oxycontin. it's used to help people having withrdrawals from Oxycontin and heroin so it's an extremely strong version of it. i don't recommend mixing the two because methadone is basically the equivalent of 160 mgs of Oxycontin.

∙ 13y agoMethadone is used to treat drugs like heroin and something called synthetic heroine is Oxycontin so i guarantee if u took methadone the oxy will have no effect at all .... either or but do not mix methadone is stronger and is used to treat addictions and is lees addict-able then oxy but pain wise ... it still depends on the person how strong of a will and self controll they have ... ait peace

∙ 12y agoHelllll no! Took 2 10mg methadones bout 2 1/2 hours ago, was feelin pretty damn warm n fuzzy, took 3 oxycodone 10s about 45 minutes ago and I AM NUMB TO THE WORLD. So f-ing euphoric! Normally 3 percs get me feelin pretty good but not like this!

Methadone is great for getting off opiates like oxycodone because it is very long lasting and does not provide as much of an euphoric effect, so you can have a higher level of functioning. The incredibly long half-life which can be up to 59 hours lets people avoid withdrawal symptoms all day long and keeps people comfortable. The most important thing is to not go to high on your dosage so that it is easier and quicker to get off of when you are ready.

∙ 11y agoNo oxycontin in methadone that would be very stupid its pain medication so is methadone if its not abused but methadone is the worst to get off of b/c the w/d is worse than heroin ! Suboxone is the only way to go if you HONESTLY are ready to QUIT !!
