all animals need oxygen no matter whether they get it from the water or air or through their skin.

plants don't need oxygen that i know of they convert carbon dioxide to oxygen

truthfully I'm not sure about bacteria, viruses, protisits, etc (microscopic life) but I'm pretty sure they get energy from oxygen.

Why are phytoplankton important to life?

phytoplankton provide most of the oxygen to earth.

Was oxygen on Earth before or after life on Earth?

Elemental oxygen did not appear on Earth until some time after life did. In fact, the oxygen was produced by life carrying out photosynthesis. The first organisms on Earth were anaerobic, meaning their life processes did not involve oxygen. To most organisms like this, oxygen was highly toxic.

Is the trophospere the layer of the atmosphere where most nitrogen and oxygen found in?

Yes, the troposphere is the layer of the atmosphere closest to the Earth's surface, and it is where most of the Earth's nitrogen and oxygen are found. This is the layer where weather occurs and where most life on Earth exists.

Why is oxygen such an important part of the earth's atmosphere?

Oxygen is necessary for most organisms to carry out their life functions.

How is most of the oxygen in earth produced?

Most of the oxygen on Earth is produced through photosynthesis by plants, algae, and cyanobacteria. These organisms use sunlight to convert carbon dioxide and water into oxygen as a byproduct. This process is essential for maintaining the Earth's atmosphere and supporting life.

How might photosynthesis help flourish life on earth?

Oxygen is the main component of carbon dioxide, which plants use in photosynthesis. Oxygen is a by-product of photosynthesis. Oxygen is the element that makes most life, plant and animal, possible on Earth. So, photosynthesis not only helps life to flourish. For most organisms, it makes life possible.

Oxygen is the most abundant element by volume in Earth's?

Oxygen is the most abundant element in Earth's crust.

What element has the greatest abundance in the Earth's crust?

Oxygen is the most common and abundant element in the Earth's crust having 47% of the mass.

Why is the atmosphere classed as an oxygen atmosphere?

Earth's atmosphere is mainly nitrogen, oxygen, carbon dioxide, and water vapor. Oxygen is the most reactive of these. Oxygen allows all of the life as we know it on earth. Even though oxygen is less than 1/4 of the atmosphere it is the most important part.

What is the most important element found on Earth?

The most important element found on Earth for sustaining life is oxygen. It is essential for respiration in organisms, including humans, and plays a crucial role in various biochemical processes.
