How is electricity made inside the generator?

electricity in a generator is made by spinning a magnet inside a coil the flux lines of the magnet will cut through the coil and create a current. you can turn the magnet in numerous ways, by using wind mills, water mills, or heating water with coal, oil, gas or nuclear energy, and let the steam rush into a turbine which then moves the magnet.

How is oil used to produce electricity?

When burned, oil (or most other types of fuel) release heat energy. This heat energy can be used to boil water. The now water vapor can be used to turn a generator which can turn kinetic energy (from the water vapor moving the fan blades) to electrical energy by using a coiled wire and a magnetic field.

Name three devices or inventions which are designed to decrease friction?

oil ball bearings cushion of bed magnetic forces

How does grease or oil affect the coefficient of friction?

It makes it run better

How do you convert kinetic energy into electrical energy by a student?

In order for Kinetic energy to be converted into electrical energy, the kinetic energy usually drives the rotation or oscillation of a magnet in close proximity to coiled wire. A bar magnet can be moved up and down through the centre of a looped coil of wires. As the wire comes into contact with the magnetic field of the magnet, a current is induced in the wire. (see Left hand rule) Likewise, a collection of magnets attached to a large prop shaft when rotated will induce a current in a large array of coiled wires which surround but do not touch the circled array of magnets. Kinetic energy is essentially converted into electrical energy in most production of electricity. Oil, Gas, Coal or Nuclear energy are all used to heat water; the steam of which turns turbines and therefore the prop shaft. Can cooking oil be remove from a mixture using a magnet?

No, cooking oil cannot be removed from a mixture using a magnet. Cooking oil is not magnetic and therefore cannot be attracted or separated by a magnet. Other methods, such as filtration or centrifugation, are typically used to separate oil from a mixture.

What is magnetic liquid?

Yes, it can because my friend and I did an experiment on this and we tested water, orange juice, coca cola, olive oil, and syrup. It turns out that the denser the liquid the further the magnets attracted to each other. We weren't sure why this happened, but we concluded that we thought it was because the dense liquids may have obtained its own magnetism and gave the liquid a magnetic field

Will a magnet on oil pan affect cam shaft sensor?

There should be no effect from that.

Can soil or dirt stick on a magnet?

Iron and other magnetic minerals are some of the most common elements on the planet. Soil and oil that contain these will leave a residue of them behind on a magnet.

Is oil a magnetic substance?

Oil is not magnetic, but magnetic substances can be made from it.

How do you separate iron filings contaminated with oil?

According to Holt Science & Technolgy (Phisical science text book)pass a magnet over the mixture and the iron filings will be attracted to it.

How does oil work?

Oil is burnt to heat up water. The water then travels in convection currents past a turbine, this causes the turbine to spin. The turbine rotates a coil of wire in a magnetic field. As the coil experiences a change in magnetic field, an AC current is induced. Oil is algy that gets heated under the water at a paticular temperature

How do you separate water oil and iron nails?

First, use a magnet to get the iron nails out because iron is a magnetic material and will be attracted to the magnet. Now what you have left is the water and oil. Fortunately, oil is less dense than oil and it will float on top of the water. Use a separating funnel to tap the water out from the bottom and collect it in a container. You can also use a spoon to get the oil out from a container which contains the oil and water since oil floats on the surface.

Is oil magnetic or non-magnetic?

non-magnetic

Is a sewing needle magnetic?

Sewing needles are almost always made of steel, which is a magnetic alloy of iron, which is, itself, magnetic. Sometimes we put a bowl of water on the table, rub and tap a sewing needle with one end of a permanent magnet for a few seconds, float the needle on the water (a hint of oil on the needle might help), and construct a homemade magnetic compass.
