Games for the Game Boy Advance keep their save data on the cartridge. Although the system does have internal flash memory, this is only used for single-cartridge multiplayer only.
They save on the game cartridge/ Game itself. Not the system.
The first cartridge loaded video game console is considered to be the Fairchild Video Entertainment System. For the first time, video games for the Fairchild Video Entertainment System were played from a chip in a cartridge loaded into a video game console.
Yes, you can but, the cartridge sticks out about 1 inch You can also play original gameboy games and add color to them Both gameboy & Gameboy Color game cartridges stick out about 1 inch but that doesn't make it uncomfortable
Yes. Save game data is held on the cartridge.
if you mean on DS, insert the game cartridge and press the rightmost button, if you have a separate GB game cartridge.
Cartridge and disk video games are simply two styles of storing the game (mostly old and new) sort of like floppies verses CDs for computers. A cartridge is mostly the older way of storing a game for example a lot of the first video games for game systems were on cartridges, which were plastic blocks with the important hardware inside them and one side was open where it was fitted into the system. With cartridge games the saved game data was usually stored on the cartridge it's self. Cartridge games still exist to an extent though they are much smaller for example the game boy SP and advanced games could be considered cartridge games though I am unsure whether DS is quite a cartridge game, older examples are the N64 and most older game systems. Disk video games are exactly what they sound like the game is stored on a disk (similar to a CD or DVD though usually a different size etc), with disk video games the player's saved data is usually saved on a separate memory card. Disk games are much more common now especially with game systems you hook into the tv as oppose to handhelds, for example Game Cubes, Wiis, Playstations, etc.
Yes, it can also play original gameboy games and can add color to them however the cartridge sticks out of the gameboy about 1 or 2 inches on both gameboy and gameboy color games
It depends on the game. Many games were released with color capabilities, but could still be played on a B&W GameBoy. The most notable of these I can think of off the top of my head are Pokemon Gold and Silver. Generally speaking: # If the cartridge is a solid color (grey, blue, black, red, etc...), you can play it on an original GamBoy. # If the cartridge is translucent (colored but you can see through it) or clear, it will not work in an original Gameboy.
Game Boy Color games come in two types; Dual and color-only. Dual games have a black cartridge and can still be played on the Game Boy. Color-only games have a clear cartridge and can be played on the Game Boy Color only.
Yes but only if you have either the original Nintendo DS system or the Nintendo DS Lite however the only GameBoy games that will work in the system are the games that were made exclusively for the Game Boy Advance.
Blow into the game cartridge to remove dust.
