There's an effect on the depressant side effects of Percocet - how much is dependent on the strength of the alcohol, the size of the person, the person's overall tolerance level to opiates and alcohol, etc. The risk is that too much can depress a person's nervous system to the point of respiratory failure, and then cardiac arrest.
For someone like me who uses a lot of Percocet (120-150 per month, 10mg dosage) I don't really feel much effect when I have a drink. But I'm not a small person either - I'm 6' 250lbs. Since I use a much stronger opiate than Percocet for my primary pain, it takes a lot to affect me. Someone not as tolerant would likely feel the effects much quicker.

∙ 13y agoAlcohol alone affects the mind. Combining alcohol with any other drug is extremely dangerous, and even mild pain relievers like Percocet can be fatal when combined with alcohol.
