Yes. Video games do very much affect your heart rate and usually blood pressure. Obviously the more active you are while playing with increase your heart rate, but a more physical game system like Wii or Kinect will ensue with higher activity level and a quicker heart rate. But the contrary does not ring true. Because even if you are just sitting there using a controller or hang held system you may be come excited or aggravated which in turn would cause your heart rate to rise. The same is with in-game anxiety.
When you play video games (xbox or ps3) and you're play a hard level or your playing Nazi zombies and all your friends die and you are the last one left. And your on level 30 your heart rate increases and your adrenaline raises because your scared.
