"Acid rain" is a broad term used to describe several ways that acids fall out of the atmosphere.Acid rain is caused by sulfur dioxide from power plants, diesel engines and cars fitted with catalytic smog converters intended to reduce co2 output. Co2 is a natural benign gas that is useful in industry for many processes as well being a natural plant food. in fact it takes about 200 to 300ppm of co2 in the air to enable people to breath. If the level of co2 gets to low people will suffocate quickly. This why in CPR if pressure alone is not sufficient to restart breathing it is recommended to breath into the the other persons lungs to provide enough co2 to restart the persons breathing process
