The answer is SOMETIMES! You will find that the lightest weight polyester fleece (called Mirco fleece) does have a right and wrong side. The right side will be clearly smoother than the wrong side. Medium and Heavy weight polyester fleeces usually do not have a wright or wrong side. If one side appears bumpy while the other is smooth, then then smooth side will be the right side. Check by running your hand down the fleece on each side. Do you feel or see a difference? If so, treat the smooth side as the right side.

Where does suede come from?

i think its cow skin It has nothing to do with cows. It is a imitation suede fabric that has a brushed look on the right side of the fabric. It is a knit fabric, which you can clearly see from the wrong side, and it is made from polyester. It looks like velour, but is a lighter weight.

What is the right side of fabric?

The front side of the fabric, where the pattern is strongest and the colors are brightest, is called the right side. The back side of the fabric, where the pattern is weaker and the colors tend to be muted, is called the wrong side. This is very important to determine before cutting out pieces of fabric because different pattern pieces will need to be placed on the right side or the wrong side to have the fabric face the correct way.

Single jersey knit structure?

Is wool a knitted fabric?

Polyester fleece (polar fleece) is knitted. It is made in a similar way to sweatshirt material. Sweatshirt material has what is called a 'floating yarn' on one side (fleecy has these yarns on both sides), which is a yarn that only loops through the fabric infrequently so it creates loops. This side can be un-brushed (with one side like terry-towel) or it can be brushed (fuzzy on one side). This brushing technique is what makes polyester fleece so fuzzy.

What is a cover stitch on a sewing machine?

A cover stitch is usually hemming tee shirts and stretchy fabric. Two lines of straight stitching are on the right side, and looping threads on the wrong side. This lets the fabric stretch without bursting the stitches. The knife is disabled so that the fabric is not cut.

How do you sew a sleeve on a dress?

It is easiest to follow directions on a pattern with pictures. The dress will be inside out, and the sleeve will be inside the dresswith the "wrong" side of the fabric on the inside and the "right" side of the fabric facing the "right" side of the dress. You may have to take off part of your sewing machine body to have space for the small armhole under your presser foot.

What is the wrong side of a pattern?

If you flip the piece upside down so the writing is backwards, that's the "wrong side" of the pattern. Really, there is no "wrong side" of a pattern; if you wanted to lay the whole pattern on the fabric face down and cut it out that way, the garment would still work. There is sometimes a wrong side of fabric - get a pair of jeans and examine the inside, and you'll understand.

Why do fabric stores drape fabric?

When the fabric stores receive the fabric on the bolt, the fabric is wrapped right side in. To show the true color and texture of the fabric the employees must take the fabric and drape it over the bolt.

What is the wrong side in sewing?

Usually, the pattern will tell you which is the right side. I have been crocheting for five years and I still can't tell by looking. If a pattern says something like this: Chain 51, turn SC in each CH across (RS) ...that means the row of single crochets is the right side (RS). You can put a loop of a contrasting color yarn, or a small safety pin, on the end of that row in one of the front loops. Then when you are several rows ahead you can always look to see which side your marker is on, and know that's the right side. you can tell by looking at the chain of loops that is created. if it curls towards you, this is the right side, if it curls away from you, it is the wrong side. What I do is when I do my foundation chain, I leave a tail. Then when the tail of the project is on my left, I would be on the "right" side of the piece, if the tail is on the right side, then I'm looking at the "wrong" side or back of the project. If you are chaining up and turning on every row, and unless your pattern specifies the right side differently, your odd rows will be the right side. As noted above, Row 1 of sc will be your front or right side, you turn and work Row 2 the back side, Row 3 again on the right side etc.

What is difference between man's garment placket and ladies garment placket?

A lady's garment placket usually has the top layer of fabric on the left side, while a man's garment placket usually has the top layer of fabric on the right side. However, this is not always true, and there is nothing "wrong" with a garment if the opposite occurs.

How do I turn my knitting so that the right side is facing me?

Look at the fabric. One side will be prettier than the other. That's the right side. If you are looking at stockinette knitting, where you knit one side and purl the other side, generally the knit side is the right side. Examine the stitches. On one side the stitches look like the letter "V." On the other, they look like bumps or dashes ("-"). The "V" side is the knit, or right side, and the "-" side is the purl or wrong side.

What does right mean in crocheting?

When a pattern refers to the "right side" of your work, they mean the side that is the front. The side that is the back will be the "wrong" side.
