I have skimmed the entire CSA (controlled substance act) under which prescriptions fall and could not find a definitive answer.
HOWEVER because having a prescription that is not your own is against the law, and placing your prescription in a different container that doesn't provide information verifying that It is medicine being prescribed to you I highly discourage using any container other than the original.

Check your local laws.
Yes. To legally possess your own drugs you must possess the drug in its original container. Otherwise you will have no proof that you are in lawful possession of it. However, if you have the misfortune to be arrested in this situation an affirmative defense is available if you can show a valid prescription.
Yes. Regardless of where you travel your prescriptions should be carried in the original bottles or containers. Most states have laws that prohibit carrying prescriptions in any other container EXCEPT in their original containers.
Yes, under some circumstances. If the pill is not in the original container you can be arrested for possession of a prescription drug. You can also be charged if the pill IS in the original container but the prescription is not yours.
If you are traveling you can PROBABLY get away with it, but if you are the lucky one who gets searched, you could get in trouble for not having original prescription labels available. I have done it before, because I take a lot of medicine and vitamins, and I have never had an issue, but they could confiscate it. And if you are traveling out of the US, then WITHOUT QUESTION you need the original prescription bottles.
If they are legal, you place them in a plastic container (Zip Lock) with the original prescription. It also helps to have a medical record. Also check with the airline page and see their regulations. If you are asking about illegal drugs then be prepared to be arrested and go to jail.
On average, people on prescription weight loss drugs lose about 5-10% of their original weight.
I do not have possession of prescription drugs that were not prescribed to me.
It says nothing about prescription drugs. There was no such thing as prescription drugs when the constitution of the United States was formed.
Prescription drugs are often misused.
Illegal drugs and prescription-only drugs cannot be sold on eBay. Non-prescription drugs are sometimes available.
Yes ... and here's why. Prescription drugs are only issued to the person for whom they were prescribed. They need to remain in the original container just for the common sense of identification on what is inside the bottle or package. Federal law prohibits the use of prescribed drugs by someone other than for whom the drug was prescribed, so without knowing to whom the drugs were prescribed (information on the original bottle) the authorities may assume it has been stolen and/or ask for proof that the medicine is indeed yours ... again, the proof is on the original bottle ... without that, what else can they do ... you have no proof positive ... ! The "what else" they can do is retrieve medical records, prescription reports, and speak directly to the physician which prescribed the medicine in the first place, can they not? What if a prescription bottle gets wet and unreadable or damaged? The bottle itself cannot be the only proof positive.
