The prison I was in allowed diets. Like kosher diets, diets based on any Allergies, etc.
They obviously add some sort of chemical in the food. My advice: Don't do those diets!

Prison officials will not share the current security status of the prison over the phone, and you could only know by visiting the prison because, depending on the reason for lockdown, there will either be a waiting room full of family members waiting to visit, or they will not allow civilians to enter. No one will tell you officially that the prison is on lockdown.
