The PS3's maximum output resolution is 1080i. However, the actual quality of a game changes how good of a resolution the PS3 will output in. There are very few games that actually support output in 1080i and therefore you will rarely see that good of quality.
The 4k video refers to a video having a horizontal resolution of about 4000 pixels.
4k resolution. And I think 2180p HD.
Yes, the Partition Magic Software does support the 4K hard drives.
As far as I know HDMI does have some form of support for 4K, but don't expect eery piece of hardware to be run perfectly with such (if anything, the setup you describe will probably be bottlenecked at 1080p if it doesn't complain about resolution formats).
There are several different standards. In general, 4K refers to a resolution of roughly 4,000 pixels wide and about 2,000 pixels high. That makes it the equivalent of four 1080p screens in height and length. Currently 4K is a catch-all term for a number of standards that are reasonably close to that resolution.
No, it renders on both Xbox360 and PS3 at 720p. The hardware then stretches the image to your screen. The info on the back on the box where it says "resolution" is the resolution of TV the game will support, not the resolution the game renders at.

If you want to play 4K or UHD Videos, you still need to buy UHD Player. I myself often use this UHD Player(dvdfab.at/ultra-hd-player.htm) to play 4k videos. Of course, it can also play ordinary Blu-ray videos, and the operation is very simple.
No, you can obtain full resolution with s video or component PS3 cables. You will not obtain the HDMI sync that allows the HDTV and PS3 to connect without manual HDTV set switching to the PS3 and back when you turn off the PS3. But this feature was only available with the PS3 slim.
Definition of: 4K resolution Refers to approximately 4,000 pixels of horizontal resolution used in several digital formats for shooting the highest-quality video or scanning 35mm frames. 4K movies can be used intact for digital cinema theater projection or downsized to HD and other formats. With the huge number of pixels captured in 4K resolution, scaled down images also retain more detail. Following are the 4K (and 2K) digital resolutions for common cinema formats. Sony makes the Ultra HD 4k projector that is a far higher resolution then other projectors.
