There are 2 ways of resetting your motherboard to factory settings. 1) In bios there is an option to Load Setup Defaults in the Exit menu. 2) There is a jumper on the motherboard that will also clear the bois. Professionally made computers have a recovery partition in the hard-drive for the user to restore the machine to its original factory settings if needed - OR - it comes with a recovery disk (CD or DVD). If you've built your own computer - it will not have a recovery option !
