Ringworm is a fungus that is spread by touch. It is most common in cats, but can be found on pretty much any mammal. It is called ringworm for its appearance, a red ring SHAPED raised patch of skin. It can be scaly, dry, or the inside of the ring can ooze. Ringworm doesnt bring any detrement to the body other that being itchy and looking weird. It can be treated with anti fungal creams or some home readidies that may or may not work, but its worth a try.

Skin is divided into three regions with the epidermis being the outermost layer. Tinea most often occurs on the scalp, the body, the feet, and the nails. Tinea is also known as "ringworm". However, contrary to what the name suggests, this infection is not caused by worms. Rather, it is caused by a group of fungus organisms that are referred to as "dermatophytes". This type of fungus thrives on the dead cells and tissues that are the end result of hair, skin, and nail development.

Ringworm enters the body by rubbing on the fungus or if someone else has it, rubbing on their Ringworm spot on their skin. I'd advise putting a band-aid over it if you have it.
