Does smoking weed once affect your athletic abilities such as in soccer?

Well, that depends largely on the individual. THC affects everyone differently. I've found THC helps me concentrate when I'm doing drills, or praticing my handling (I've been playing competitive hockey for near 14 years) or when I'm simply trying to have a good time by playing some pick up on the pond with the boys. Working out at the gym while under the light influence of marijuana also helps me concentrate and attain my reps in a slower, smoother motion. It's all comes down to you. But Here's your anwser. Would smoking weed ONCE affect your abilities such as in soccer? No. Having a coffee or drinking a beer would affect you worse.
I do not recommend smoking weed for the FIRST time however, then going off to play a game. As your body would not be used to the drug. Would you get drunk for the first time and play a soccer game?
