Does soaking an egg in vinegar for a day make the egg shrink or grow?

when we did this expirament in Biology, the egg size stayed the same, so i would say neither, but we didn't actually measure it so if it was actually a few millimeters off size from the day before, sorry cuz we didn't notice. the eggshell, though, had the calcium taken away from it and it came off easily when we ran it under some water
uhhh actually it grows don't know why but i did it for SEVEN days

∙ 9y agoThe vinegar dissolves away the shell. This leaves the egg in its membrane. Until this happens the egg cannot change size. But what happens now depends on the strength of the liquid (which was vinegar but is now a mixture of acetic acid, calcium acetate, water and some other bits and pieces). If this is more concentrated than the egg white then water in the egg white will move through the membrane by osmosis and the egg will shrink. But if the outside liquid is more deep the water within it will go through the membrane and cause the egg to swell.
