Contact the Immigration and Naturalization Services (the INS.)
You have to apply for permanent residency, through INS. Check on the website and they will be able to give you information on the papers that you need to complete.
If you didn't contact your ins Co the other party involved will.but if they don't have your ins info the cops will call your ins co on the spot that's all the ways they can find out.
I would need more information to answer this question. However, I am guessing in this case, that the INS or USCIS would be able to hold someone until the reopened case has been completed. So they could potentially hold for 180 days, which is only a guideline for dealing with a case.
INS form 2HomeUGO, available at any INS office. They are free.
No, you have to re-apply to INS under different entry status.

That depends on how bad/serious the crime was.

Not if she is illegal. That is why it is better to stay in your country and file for papers legally. I know alot of illegal aliens where I used to work. They were from Mexico. The INS got wind of them working at the plant and then all of a sudden we lost 70 workers. They were afraid to come back to work because they would get deported. It is safer if you get legal papers instead of illegal papers because trust me, they are looking right now and they (INS) will find you and deport you. It may take time to get papers legally but it is worth it. Good luck and God Bless:)
