There are now tests that detect the presence of the JWH-018, JWH-073, Hu-210, JWH-200, JWH-081 chemical compounds, just to mention a few. So aside from Synthetic Marijuana being more harmful than standard Marijuana, you can now be tested for it. Several labs are already screening for well over 15 chemical compounds found in Synthetic Marijuana. However, last time I checked, only the JWH-018, and JWH-073 were listed as schedule I controlled substances. Legislation is coming to put the remaining chemicals on the list as well. So in short, yes, spice does have illegal drugs in it, and shops that sell it are being busted daily.
