Yes, they will. However the exact effects they will have on the fetus are unknown as it would be unethical to test drugs on a pregnant woman. Retrospective studies have shown that the fetus may stand to suffer withdrawal symptoms once born and may even be more prone to seizures. In most cases where a woman with depression falls pregnant the benefits and risks will be weighed up as there are also risks to the fetus if the mother is suffering of severe depression.
In simple terms, it is best to avoid taking antidepressants while pregnant if this is possible. If you are severely depressed then it will be better for you and your baby if you take them.
