I just bought a boat witha 76 Chrysler 75 HP motor. It uses a 32:1 oil/gas mix. Runs great but right now it shuts down when I put it in forward or reverse. Searching for help in the "why" of this.

Regarding the Suzuki DT 7,5 A Outboard 2 stroke motor 1977-1979; answer ; the amount of oil mix is 2 %,acc to my experience. - Remember to use genuine 2 stroke outboard motor oil with the NMMA (national motor association) TC-W3.

The recommended spark plug for the 1977 model, 7.5 hp Mercury outboard is a Champion L78V, or NGK BUHW-2. Both brands are Perma Gap type plugs, with the Champion being the manufacturer supplied plug back in 1977.
